Thanks to YouTube and conspiracy circles a new ‘theory’ has emerged regarding the truth about some of the most horrific events in US history that include the Boston Bombing, the Sandy Hook Shooting and even 9/11.
The claim by some people on the net is that these events are careful orchestrations by paid actors to manipulate public opinion leading to the ‘support of the masses’ needed to push through legislation that would be hard pressed to go through without the indignation of the fearful masses.
At issue is whether professional “crisis actors” are going beyond mere simulation of mass casualty events (what the Denver-based group VisionBox Crisis Actors say they do) to actually impersonate real-life people caught in the news of recent massacres, notably the Sandy Hook Elementary School killings that took the lives of 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012. ~ Related articles – Photos – Videos
While I feel that much of what is alleged on some of these sites are the products of an imagination that REALLY wants the imaginary to become real…. There have been some compelling co-incidences and video evidence that begs the question… “what human being behaves like that?”
Case in point is the father of Sandy Hook shooting victim; Emily Parker.
Watching the YouTube video’s on this subject will make your head spin and your blood boil….
Let’s assume, for a minute that the rumors are true… that Emily Parker is not dead… that the reason her ‘dad’ swaggered and smiled and joked with others at his ‘press conference’ and priming the tears and choked voice and pained expression was that it was his job to elicit the Nations Heart Felt Sorrow. This should enrage you… but more importantly it should make you ask, WHY.
I submit that there is increasing evidence that what we believe to be true about events around the world has suddenly come under greater scrutiny. Ask yourself this, how much of what you see on the news is FAKED?
The historical knowledge of how war planners have tricked people into supporting past wars, is like a vaccine. We can use this understanding of history to inoculate the public with healthy doses of distrust for official war pretext narratives and other deceptive stratagems. Through such immunization programs we may help to counter our society’s susceptibility to “war fever.” (Richard Sanders 2002)
PRETEXT FOR WAR: Consider this recently released video after news releases about police opening fire on peaceful protesters in Syria and Egypt:
Many people have worked hard to expose these kinds of social manipulations… Greg Renouf, Eye on a Crazy Planet, Dissembling.org, Canadian Awareness Network.org, Blazing Cat Fur, and now Main Stream Media outlets like Sun News Network are showing you how your opinions are being swayed under false pretences. Greg Renouf, who puts out nearly daily articles on this kind of subject is not a popular man in TO, neither is Ezra Levant. Ezra’s latest monologue was so detailed and revealing that he ran over-time and had to bump his guest to a later time slot. The subject fueling the barrage of articles and Ezra-logues is the Environmental Movement (and to a lesser degree, Idle No More). But it really could be any kind of Movement…. As I heard it said:
“The Issue isn’t the issue… the issue is Revolution.“
And as the Alternative Media is fervently exposing, Canada’s slow march to Revolution and a Communist Fascist state is by design, paid for by special interest groups (NGO’s) and carefully propagandized. It means that Paid Anarchists, Crisis Actors and Youth Activist Training Camps are not only useful, they are ESSENTIAL in steering us over the cliff.
To understand this in modern terms you need to watch this documentary on the side of Occupy you perhaps never saw or heard about thanks to the MSM. There is no doubt you will recognize the threat of ‘structured chaos’. But recognition is not enough…. we need to start talking about it.
The end result is unspoken… it involves the potential for violence. Greg Renouf has released an article today on the reality of alleged Green Party involvement in the sabotage of Canada’s Rail Lines. There was even some evidence as presented by fellow blogger Lawrence McCurry (Canada The Alarm Clock Is Going Off!) that in the midst of heated Pipeline negotiations between Canada and the US that the horrific explosion at Lac Megantic might be the work of purposeful and not accidental human involvement. What’s worse is that Communist/Socialist’s are using the tragedy as an example of how austerity measures cost lives. In conspiracy circles this would constitute the perfect non-militarized ‘false flag‘ operation designed to generate popular support for an idea.
Remember the Toronto G20 and the ease with which Black Block rioters were able to smash and run amok? Could police provocateurs have been used at this summit to polarize public opinion about the oppressive nature of the police? What about the idea that this was a training exercise for martial law, if and when it is declared in this country? All good questions….
Black Block Tactics were used to sensationalize, radicalize and militarize the normally peaceful demonstrations against G8/G20 and WTO meetings annually. The presence of this ideology as a means of blurring the edges between demonstration and violent destruction of property which is a wonderful thing as the Black Block apologist (Sarah Leonard) points out at the beginning of this panel on the Occupy Movement.
(Warning!: This video is a long one folks but it gives a good insight into how this group of people think)
You can read more of Chris Hedges article ‘The Cancer in Occupy’ here. It is clear that Chris sympathizes with Leftist movements and also advocates the use of violence when necessary. This is the slippery slope, however, because there is no rule book when it comes to Leftist movements so as Harsha Wallia (a self-identified Anarchist) likes to say… violence is a matter of perspective.
For myself, while I am happy to see that there are discussions and debates on how Occupy should operate, I can’t help but wonder why we are unable to have discussions about how we can avoid needing Occupy altogether and yet still enable positive change. It seems we are on a steep hill with no other choice but to roll downwards. We’ve gotten so caught up in blaming others, we’ve failed to take personal responsibility for the way things are.
I believe that Andrew Breitbart had it right when he said that we’ve created our own problems because we’ve failed to take care of one another… to look after our neighbors. In essence we’ve forgotten the Golden Rule. It is sad that the counter-argument to the Occupy and like-minded movements is no longer there to be a watcher on the wall because dissenters of the collective have to be silenced. I have to wonder if the sudden end to Breitbart’s life was also part of that concerted effort to bring forth the Communist Socialist (Fascist) agenda.
In closing, I apologise for the length of these posts as of late, but the importance of being thorough and providing links and references as much as possible means that you too can gain a full perspective of what’s happening.
We have yet to see the full force of Revolution in this country, but it is a guarantee that the preparations are being laid…. and that the initial stages of this preparation involve further indoctrination through training of our youth (ie. the creation of a revolutionary fighting force) and the refinement of the tactics practiced at events like the Toronto G20 and Occupy Toronto/Vancouver. It will not be a stretch to see paid activists fill the gaps where indoctrination and training fail to meet numbers… and that orchestration of events by using ‘crisis actors’ and police provocateurs to heighten tensions is NOT without the realm of possibility.
(Remember…. that after the Sandy Hook shooting… renewed calls for gun control legislation came to the fore where people were much more willing to relinquish, as Goebbels said, their constitutional rights (the Second Amendment) than without such a tragedy involving the murder of children. See Obama’s Real Reason He Want’s Your Guns). It’s time that people plug-in and get engaged with what’s going on and time to realize where the endpoint of all this madness might lead….)
Good old Summer Camp! Where you never had to learn how to talk to a Neo-Liberal!
by Heather Martin
While the back to school flyers inundate my mailbox this week it is important to note that summer is far from over! My kids spent their summer largely doing nothing in particular, enjoying the outdoors, the Exhibition, some swimming at the pool and some camping. Camping with my teenagers this year involved us heading out to a site with bare minimum for services so we could actually hear the sounds of birds chirping and the deafening quiet you can only get when you’re out in the woods. It was great!
As a kid I thought summer camps were for those rich kids whose parents couldn’t tolerate two months of their children being at home (as they were too young to put to work, don’t you know…lol). I was never disappointed to not go to a summer camp because I had three weeks holidays out on the Shuswap which was way more fun and far less structured. I pitied the kids who had to go to camp…. my summers were infinitely more awesome I was sure! Needless to say I have great memories of my summers as a kid and don’t think I missed out on Summer Camp. Nor have my own children, in my opinion. Nowadays camps have evolved beyond simple entertainment or outdoor skill building. Today, camps have expanded into a means of ‘educating’ (I say indoctrinating) young people into the cult that has become ENVIRONMENTALISM. Sure they mix in a little horseback-riding and canoeing in for good measure, but mostly they are designed to teach young people (and not just the young kids… young adults too) the skills of protesting, resistance and how to handle that ever important interview with the media.
The idea that a summer camp would be used for anything other than the appreciation of nature, its freshness, fun and fragility and it’s need for protection through mutual respect is a disgusting and despicable thing. It makes me recall the indoctrination I received as a student in school when I was told that there was too much acid in the rain and that those Japanese and Norwegian bastards were killing all the whales (PTSD ALERT!!!… I’m not racist, but because of those images of hacked and bleeding whales, I sure could be!). I am being sarcastic of course, but my above comment illustrates that as a young person who was traumatized by thoughts of nuclear bombs, the cold war, acid rain poisoning the planet and the endless numbers of birds and frogs choked to death with plastic six-pack rings… I was a Beta-tester of TPTB (The Powers That Be)’s plan for social engineering through guilt.
Unfortunately, the world didn’t grow out of it…..
My own children have come home numerous times over the span of their grade and high school ‘career’s’ to tell me through sob’s how the ‘packet’ they received in school was so graphic and horrible that it made several students cry. They recounted how they were shown in ENGLISH class ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ where again tears from many students flowed. It was blatant indoctrination, the kind that parents would be up in arms against if the teacher was showing the History Channels’ series; ‘THE BIBLE’.
The program has indeed been subtle, persistent and effective, and what it has yielded is a generation (dare I say two?) of young people who are ‘disappointed revolutionaries’… so angry at the state of the world and burdened with the sins of their parents that they can do nothing more than leap at a chance to do something ‘real’ about it. This is why camps are so effective, timely and popular… and why it is no surprise that like the grass-roots movements, they too have been co-opted with someone’s agenda.
Below is a sampling of some of the camps offered this summer in Canada that illustrate my point:
1. Fight Like a Girl Camp: For immigrant women – Pays $11 bucks an hour!!
It perhaps is no secret that immigrant women have the hardest time finding stable employment after arriving and becoming settled in Canada. In fact, many women come to this country as Doctors, Physiotherapists, Chemists, Physicists, etc.. who find themselves suddenly unable to do the kind of work they were employed in the country they came from. Most Provincial governments as well as the Federal Government have programs to assist immigrants in their transition into the workforce here. Often they must take low paying jobs as housekeepers, care aides, cashiers, stock clerks, etc… to make ends meet while they gain accreditation to resume their professions. The difficulties for young immigrant women with NO such professional education become even more difficult. Teens often lack experience needed to help get them a part or full-time job so training camp where they get paid to Fight Like A Girl seems like an attractive prospect. This camp is designed to train young immigrant women to become ‘youth organizers’ of campaigns to oppose racism, violence and how to work with the media. The camp is sponsored by the Newcomer Womens Services of Toronto.
2. Student Strike Camp – show your solidarity even though it has nothing to do with you…
It amazes me how young people somehow flock to the idea of communist/collectivist activities and are mind-melded with Labor Unions through their own Students Unions as if they’re supposed to care that the Postal Workers are getting a raw deal in their contract negotiations. However, belonging to a Student’s Union (and being REALLY, REALLY, involved) can lead to the adoption of strong sentiments about social justice, workers rights and discrimination…. it is, after-all communist principles that labor unions are based upon and at the University of Toronto, you’ll not only earn your degree…you’ll learn how to Strike and ‘stick it to the institution’ you’re getting your education from!:
Centered at the University of Toronto on July 27th to 29th, the Ontario Student Strike Training Camp– through plenary discussions and workshops – shall engage participants in the topic of student strikes and other forms of grassroots organizing.
Additionally, the various participants from across the province shall discuss more generally student engagement and mobilization in their varied unions and campuses. With an eye towards the growth of direct democratic practice and healthy student organizations, the training provided through these events will both provoke discussion and supply students with the tools to create positive change.
3. University Subsidized Activist Camp
This brings me to the topic of ‘camps’ that are not just held on University campuses across Canada, but ones where the Universities either knowingly or unknowingly sponsor activist training.. From the Saskatchewan Council of International Co-Operation (SCIC)’s website:
What’s New With SCIC Youth?
Generating Momentum Activist Leadership Training Camp!
August 29-September 1
This camp is for young adults aged 18-29, it will be 3 full days of leadership training in the Qu’Appelle Valley. This will be an educational, skills-based, action-oriented event. The workshops and trainings could include:
Justice, Anti-oppression and democracy
Solidarity locally and internationally. Solutions locally and internationally
Understanding and affecting power politics
Social networking, volunteer recruitment, media and messaging
Strategic planning, event coordinating and project management
Building a movement, being a movement
This event will also allow participants to meet and network with a diverse group of people, and make new friends! Hiking, canoeing, music/ art jams, and other fun activities will be available for participants outside of workshop times!
The University of Saskatchewan actively promotes sustainability and encourages students to become involved in any of the organizations listed on their website.
I would be remiss if I didn’t add that Jeh Custer is the SCIC Youth Program Co-ordinator:
SCIC Youth Program
416 21st St. E. -Suite 208
Phone: (306) 956-0622
By now you must be wondering why my intense interest in Jeh Custerra/Custer. I wrote a bit (ok, a lot) about Jeh in a previous article on my blog. It is not that I hate Jeh or oppose all the things that Jeh is fighting against. He is, however, a pivotal figure in social manipulation activities being undertaken by some pretty big players in politics, labor unions and the corporate elite. (It is ironic to me that the people who are most vehemently and violently opposed to the tyranny they fight against are puppets of those same tyrants)… Take Sierra Club, for example, if you think that it is a benevolent organization aimed at creating a better world, consider that it’s main financial support comes from the Rockefeller Fund. Before you argue the ‘philanthropy’ of the Rockefeller’s and their ‘fund’, consider the following compilation of quotes from this site:
“…conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure — one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.” —–David Rockefeller
“Between 1963 and 1965 more than 400, 000 Colombian women were sterilized in a program funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. In Bolivia, a U.S. imposed population control program administered by the Peace Corps sterilized Quechua Indian women without their knowledge or consent…(Akwesasne Notes, 1977: 31). In 1967 the American Public Health Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists conducted a study and found that 54 percent of the teaching hospitals nation-wide “…made sterilization a requirement for winning approval for an abortion” (Weisbord, 1975: 155).” A Look at the Indian Health Service Policy of Sterilization, 1972-1976 by Charles R. England
“One CFR published policy objective is substantial worldwide depopulation including half of the current U.S. population being targeted. This population reduction program is largely funded by the Rockefeller Foundation and the Merck Fund, both financially and administratively linked to the Merck pharmaceutical company–the world’s leading vaccine manufacturer……..Records show the Merck pharmaceutical company received a major share of the Nazi “flight capital” at the close of World War II when its president, George W. Merck, was America’s biological weapons industry director. These facts were revealed by Norman Covert, Army public relations director at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD, and veteran news correspondent Paul Manning in his book “Martin Bormann: Nazi in Exile” (Lyle Stuart, Inc, 1981). “—Dr Horowitz
“Rockefeller spent a great deal of money financing Nazi scientists and eugenic institutions in Germany, among them Otmar Freiherr von Vershuer. Vershuer was particularly interested in twins. With twins you could unlock the mysteries of defective reproduction, they thought, and also with twins you could discover the secret to multiplication of the master race. Vershuer sent his assistant, whose name was Joseph Mengele, into Auschwitz to finish the program originally financed by Rockefeller. But of course, Mengele went there after the war began……Rockefeller was funding the Nazi eugenicists throughout the entire pre-war period. Rockefeller was receiving constant letters of protest because of its open involvement with Nazi medicine……When lawyers and other entities tried to stop me from seeing the records, they even claimed doctor-patient confidentiality for Joseph Mengele!” The haunted house of eugenics
“The Rockefeller Foundation was the major funding source for Kinsey, even though it had ample, repeated warning from noted statisticians and social scientists that Kinsey’s pseudo-science was a hoax. The Rockefeller Foundation began funding Kinsey in 1941, mostly by grants funneled through the National Research Council, but it also funded Kinsey directly.
In the early 1950s, when the Reece Committee of Congress exposed Rockefeller grants in support of Communism and socialism, and started going after the Foundation’s funding of Kinsey’s sex research, the Rockefeller people backed off from funding Kinsey. Besides, he had already done his work for them. The next step was to apply Kinsey — to the law, education, etc. — so Rockefeller funding shifted over to the Kinsey-allied American Law Institute and SIECUS [Sex Information and Education Council of the United States]. The Ford Foundation and others have also funded Kinsey. Let me read to you here from the Kinsey Institute’s Spring 1998 Kinsey Today newsletter, which reports that the Institute has received a Ford Foundation grant to “fund a media relations firm in planning a pro-active strategy to counter the on-going campaign to shut down the Kinsey Institute and discredit its character.” Fighting the Kinsey Fraud: Interview with Dr. Judith Reisman
Also, note Rockefeller’s speech featured in the video below portrays some stark realities, that human growth cannot be sustained so population control (and therefore) reduction are the means to preserving our planet. Here, Rockefeller’s message is that the planet is of a higher order than humans and is asking the United Nations to be the instrument for controlling population growth:
So when I discover that Jeh Custer/Custerra (currently of Sierra Club and collaborator with Polaris Institute’s Joe Cressy) is also the SCIC Youth Program co-ordinator for the above action camp and is involved in many other groups promoting activism/activism training and activities that promote social re-engineering through public protest, I believe he deserves a lot more attention.
SCIC Mission Statement
The Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation is a coalition of organizations involved in international development and committed to the recognition of the dignity of all people and their right to self-determination, to the protection of the world’s fragile environment, and to the promotion of global understanding, cooperation, peace and justice.
What is important to note is the word ‘coalition’ and to ask yourself which organizations are part of that coalition? Ever heard of PRIG’s, the Saskatchewan Federation of Labor and Idle No More?
Lets start with the Public Research Interest Groups (also known as PRIG’s)… originally created in the United States, however, PRIG’s have gained momentum in Canada under the banner of PRIG.ca (which has a blatantly obvious ‘Anarchist/Socialist’ message when you see the following quote and Anarchist symbol on their website).
“You don’t have to be Karl Marx to know that’s a bum fucking deal for the rest of the world” – (A. Hoffman “Wake Up America!”)
On the surface, Saskatchewan’s PRIG (Regina PRIG) is soft and fuzzy on its surface and features images of people holding zucchini’s… sitting in lecture theatres watching powerpoint presentations, etc… Pretty benign stuff, but the common thread of social justice, women’s rights, and how to be an activist are the teeth that lie within the heart of PRIG operations. Their site features another interesting ‘camp’ that offers ‘sessions’ by Jeh Custerra, Prescilla Settee, and others:
-Learn how to ‘debate’ Neo-Liberals (or as it’s also called… ‘Shit Neo-Liberals Say‘ and other fun activities)
-Organizing and Activism
–Corporate Globalization & Democracy
-Anti-Opression Training (A & B)
-Tactic Planning and Issue Specific Tactic Planning
All this to be held at Camp Easter Seal at Manitou Beach in Saskatchewan, Aug 22-25th, 2013.
(Note: Prescilla Settee of the University of Saskatchewan/supporter of Idle No More will be speaking about Food Sovereignty).
It is important to realize that Jeh Custer and Prescilla Settee work quite closely with one another on various projects such as Activist Training Camps, speaking engagements and the like, and I found myself getting dizzy trying to keep up with all the projects they are working on together. In doing this research into PRIG’s I also came across an interesting connection: The Generating Momentum Camp is sponsored in part by the Saskatchewan Federation of Labor….Are you surprised to see links to an Activist Training Program and for Idle No More/#SOVSUMMER?
It’s no secret that Jeh also supports INM (as was evidenced by his solidarity call at March Against Monsanto in May, and his recent participation in the Tar Sands Healing walk).
Is it a co-incidence that both Jeh and Prescilla have been featured on a U of S TEDx Talk in 2012? It begs the question: Has Prescilla taken Jeh on as an apprentice of sorts?
This past week Jeh attended an Activist training camp in Chiapas, Mexico where he will have learned some new methods for his job in ‘resistance’ training of new young activist recruits. The Zapatista Resistance Training School hosted over 1,700 students from around the world to learn about the tactics used by the Zapatista’s. Given Jeh’s relationship to Prescilla (and based on her response to his posts regarding the training camp)…I can’t help but wonder how much help did Prescilla Settee (and not to be forgotten Idle No More, Sierra Club, Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives and the University of Saskatchewan) give Jeh to get to Zapatista training school? I guess the #SOVSUMMER was a good one for those who spent it at ‘camp’.
“This is an age of discouraged revolutionaries” – Alex Comfort (from Authority and Delinquency in the Modern State, 1950)
I have become, as Alex Comfort states, a discouraged revolutionary. This is as a result of my discovery that the grass-roots movements I had put my hopes into have been co-opted by political parties and NGO’s alike. The revolution, and I propose, the social evolution of humanity, has been co-opted by special interest groups masquerading as “hope and change”…”love and light”… all the while working towards chaos, darkness and oppression. I have become discouraged, because like most people involved in grass-roots movements I have a heart that hopes for a better world, but have eyes that have seen forces working towards their own endpoints, using US to do it.
In the past couple of years I’ve participated in rallies such as those protesting Bill C-38 and Bill C-45, I showed up at Occupy Saskatoon and conducted interviews, hoping to expose peoples’ opinions to a larger audience. I Marched Against Monsanto and supported Idle No More on FB and the internet.
At each event I’ve seen many of the same people show up… People like Sandra Finley who is very active and passionate about social issues, but who is also involved with the Green Party of Saskatchewan as is Larry Waldinger.
At the March Against Monsanto event in Saskatoon this past May, I knew that Sandra would be there (and expected Larry to also show up in an attempt to recruit new party members). I like Sandra, despite my disliking of the Green Party, and I admire her for standing up for what she believes in, and it makes sense for the Green Party to oppose Genetically Modified Organisms in the province that is the ‘breadbasket of the world’.
When I asked Sandra if she was there as a Green Party member or there as herself, she stated she was there as herself. Little did I know that earlier that week the Green Party organized a showing of The World According to Monsanto in Humboldt and had Percy Schmeiser come and speak about his experiences. What bothered me the most was not so much that the Green Party was putting on the show, but that Larry Waldinger opened the evening not by telling people of the perils of GMO’s, instead focused on asking the audience for $400 donations (calling it “the sweet spot”) and trying to extol the expected ‘return on your investment with the Green Party’! The worst of it was Larry’s statement that the Green Party would be making a substantial donation to the Saskatoon March Against Monsanto fund. Seriously? A fund? I have to ask what part of the March would have required subsidization except for the appearance of a portable microphone/speaker system and perhaps an honorarium for the emcee of the event? Those are things that would have been nice to know about ahead of time… and in retrospect it makes me wonder if there was money set aside for the March, who received it and how much did they get? Larry is in charge of the Green Party of Saskatchewan accounts, so I’m sure this will show up on the books, right?
This brings me to my next disappointment which was Jeh (pronounced Jay) Custerra. Jeh Custerra appeared at the march that morning as the aforementioned emcee looking a little too much like an undercover cop/provocateur. I’m sorry, but that was my first impression of him when he came up to me and asked me who the organizers were of the event. Something about him didn’t feel right. Perhaps it was his dark glasses on an overcast and rainy day? Maybe it was his notepad? Most likely it was his blatant attempt at resurrecting the ghosts of Occupy and Idle No More and the use of the word “solidarity” despite the March having nothing to do with any of those things. I asked some people there “who is this guy?” No one seemed to know.
I decided to do a little investigation to find out who Jeh Custerra was and why he’d be involved in the March Against Monsanto. From reading other alternative journalists write about paid protestors, I wondered if Jeh Custerra might not be what some call a paid shill or activistocrat.
Turns out that Jeh Custerra is also Jey Custer, the ‘youth activist’ who was arrested on Parliament Hill for disrupting question period when Jack Layton was speaking about Bill-C224 (formerly Bill C311). Jeh was interviewed by Evan Solomon regarding the allegations that Custer faked his injuries and that he was there on behalf of any political party. It was called BloodyNoseGate by MSM journalists who ran with the story that somehow the NDP had orchestrated the whole thing. A few alternative media bloggers (such as Ben Powless of rabble.ca) who wrote about the ‘Young Activists’ as if they were somehow a happenstance group of concerned youth who wanted to raise awareness of environmental issues. In the video below you’ll see some of what was reported in the news that day.
Interesting that Elizabeth May decided to weigh in on the ‘youth of this country… speaking out for everyone’. Yet, when you watch the above video you will notice several things. Firstly, Jeh Custer (Custerra) is a member of the Sierra Club of Canada and is the organizations Energy Campaigner. In the clip you’ll also see Eriel Deranger (who I’ll get to later) and Joe Cressy (of the NDP party)….seen near the end of the clip leaving Parliament waiving his fist in the air and shouting. At the time Cressy denied he was a member of the NDP or that he was at the protest as a representative of the NDP. However, as a recent Sun Media interview confirms, it is blatantly clear that Cressy is still involved in NDP politics.
Cressy is also involved with Polaris Institute and is the Campaigns Director for the Stephen Lewis Foundation. The Polaris Institute’s most active campaigns include Tarsands Watch and Inside the Bottle and includes the support of the Swamp-Line 9 barricade. One must wonder if Polaris Institute also supports tampering with rail lines and endorses convicted G20 violent protestors (as reported here) as part of it’s mandate:
“As its stated objective, Polaris is designed to enable citizen movements to re-skill and re-tool themselves to fight for democratic social change in an age of corporate driven globalization. Essentially, the Institute works with citizen movements in developing the kinds of strategies and tactics required to unmask and challenge the corporate power that is the driving force behind governments concerning public policy making on economic, social and environmental issues. In so doing, the Institute serves as a catalyst with constituency-based social movements, increasing their capacity to do their own strategic campaign planning on issues of vital concern to their members and allies. The work of Polaris with social movements is also carried out on both a national and an international basis.”
What is equally interesting is the statement made on the Swamp-Line 9 Tumblr page where it states:
“Protest actions are planned outside Enbridge offices and other key locations in a dozen cities across Canada in support of activists who took over a pumping station north of Hamilton, Ontario early Thursday morning. This action, dubbed Swamp Line 9, aims to prevent construction on Line 9 and block the transport of Tar Sands through Ontario and Quebec. This action is also part of the Idle No More campaign Sovereignty Summer.”
It’s not just the Oil, It’s the Water, Man!
Cressy, like Custer is deeply involved with the environmental movement to stop TarSands and pipeline projects alike. Cressy is a campaign organizer for Polaris Institute and it is interesting how much of what Polaris Institute and Sierra Club focuses on is issues affecting water. It is true that irresponsible mining, drilling and fracking practices threaten water resources and in that trickle down effect, threaten organic life in general. This is not the point being disputed here, what is important to recognize is that there are subtle forces in effect that are attempting to drive water as a resource out of privatization and into socialization. Privatization, the environmentalists argue means de-regulation…. it’s more government, not less that is the solution to the problem.
Contrary to what Polaris institute might have people believe, water is a renewable resource whose levels rise and fall in a cyclical pattern related to weather events. The Polaris Institutes report titled: Turning on Canada’s Taps, states that reservoirs are being depleted, yet fails to use statistically relevant data to support the claim that Canada is experiencing a water shortage:
“Already, according to documentation cited by the report, the Prairies are drying up, the South Saskatchewan River has declined by 80 per cent and other western and northern river systems are suffering.” – (I could not find the reference for this claim and due to the recent flooding in Calgary this past year, I can assure you the South Saskatchewan River has never been so high!)
I propose that what is really at stake here is not the environment, nor the quality or quantity of the water that flows within this country… it is about power, politics and homeland security.
Consider the following statement that since 9/11:
“Security for the United States goes beyond territorial or military considerations and encompasses strategic natural resources. First on the list are oil, gas, and water. In an unusually candid moment, in response to a question by the press, Bush declared that Canada’s water was part of the United States’ energy security.29 Water is being consumed in many parts of the United States at unsustainable rates. One notable example is the Ogallala aquifer located in the mid-west, one of the biggest in the world, presently being consumed 14 times faster than it can be replenished by rain.” – See more at: http://www.cipamericas.org/archives/1357#sthash.KHWgvsur.dpuf
The issue of bulk water sales does have a precedent here in Canada where:
“In the case of the Sun Belt Water Company, Sun Belt applied to export water from British Columbia. The Government of Canada denied their application under legislation enacted under intense pressure from the Council of Canadians, a non-governmental organization (NGO), to prohibit bulk-water sales. Sun Belt sued Canada and the Province of British Columbia for $600 million.” – WaterBank.com
The above paragraph is only partly correct in that the Government of Canada was forced to deny the application because Western Canada Water Enterprises had illegally been granted the bulk water deal, having to pay no fees, taxes or tariffs to do so. The Government had to save face and cover-up the scandal when Sun Belt and Aquasource filed a complaint under NAFTA rules. The company (WCW – run by Kevin Annett’s mother, Margaret Annett) remains in litigation and is regarded as the scandal that never hit the MSM because of the number of politicians, lawyers, judges and others who would have profited from the deal. To date few people know about the swindling of Canadian water that would have created a monopoly greasing the pockets of the elite and not the average joe. In this case NAFTA ensured fair trade and put a stop-gap to corruption.
The issue of water security is not about scarcity anymore than protesting the oilsands is about saving the environment…. it’s about Politicians using NGO’s and their activist trainees as ‘social change agents’ to get themselves whatever it is they want.
Case in point was Chief Theresa Spence, who co-opted Idle No More to achieve what? Her 15 minutes of fame? Has anyone been to Attawapiskat lately to see if life there has improved any? I suggest that her actions which sparked 439 protests that winter was useful in putting INM on the CSIS radar map.
This brings me to yet another of my disappointments… Idle No More, which on deeper inspection has become just another arm of the octopus that is Agenda 21 and its’ removal of Native people from their land so as to plunder the resources for countries like China. This most excellent article on Idle No More and it’s co-opted-ness needs to be read to understand just who is really in charge here. I agree with the author in giving Native people here full autonomy, land rights and resource rights and freeing them from the oppressive boot of hand-outs and social programs. Teach a man to fish I say…. However, Agenda 21 has quite a different ‘agenda’ in store for both Natives and Non-Natives alike… you can read these awesome articles by Terry Wilson here and at Dissembling.org here.
People are justified in their protest of the Tar Sands project…it’s their land… or rather Crown Land… perhaps there’s some details in the signing of those treaty’s that needs to be revisited. A Healing Walk is a good thing, provided it’s being done by those needing the healing, those whose lives are affected by such things and those Ally’s who support them…. certainly not by those NGO’s seeking to score points for their political handlers and not under a banner that has gone from grass-roots to trademark.
The founders of Idle No More (who include Priscilla Settee) have worked to better the lives of people impoverished, marginalized and driven to the brink of destruction. Settee has been a scholar of food sovereignty, Native Womens rights and environmental activism. It is unclear what the motives are of sponsoring Sierra Club campaigners to attend resistance training in Mexico, let alone making Idle No More a trademark of a capitalist and colonial type system. Have they lost their vision and become like the Kevin Annett’s of this world, obsessed with blinders on, in pursuit of the final objective at any and all costs? If Agenda 21 becomes fully implemented, will there be those within Idle No More willing to sacrifice their principles just to come out on top?
It is not that Jeh is a bad person, I do not believe that he is an evil person. Caring about our environment is an idea whose time is long overdue and I freely admit that there is little being done to provide alternatives to our energy consumption needs that can sustain us cleanly into the future. The prospect of a Utopia where we can all live in Hobbit houses and live off the land in a compassionate and healthy society is something I know I will never see. Yet it is something I’ve fought for… not for myself, but for my children and my children’s children. I’m sure that Jeh believes that too. But what makes the great leaders and stewards of our young people is their ability to not only inspire, but to do so in a transparent and accountable manner and those great leaders have done so in the spirit of PEACE.
How has Jeh emulated this as a Youth Conference leader? He’s changed his name from Custer to Custerra (loose the spy vs. spy glasses and own your sh*t, man!), and possibly exaggerated the severity of his ‘injuries’ at the clearly orchestrated and NDP directed protest. He has attempted to mesh Occupy and Idle No More into the March Against Monsanto and has perhaps used the Green Party to do so… (or perhaps it was a mutual agreement)? In the most worst case scenario, Jeh is part of a network of activistocrats set loose upon the naive masses in an attempt to create a revolution. There’s an Anarchists Playbook out there somewhere to be sure….Also, If we look at Jeh’s friend list, many of the same people with links to TIDES Foundation, Ruckus Society, and George Soros are there. Greg Renouf, Undercover Kitty (meow!) and others have exposed the likes of Zoe Blunt, Alex Hundert, Sakura Saunders, Eriel Deranger and others who continue to show up at any and all protests to shout F*CK the Police! and cause destruction of property. It’s clear that Jeh is a disappointed revolutionary as well:
Some of Jeh’s FB friends:
Lastly I submit a screenshot taken of Eriel Deranger standing behind Jeh in the detention area after his arrest in the gallery of Parliament. How much of a co-incidence that Joe Cressy, Eriel Deranger (Love is the Movement) and Jeh Custerra just happened to be at Parliament Hill that day, and an even greater co-incidence that they met with senior NDP staff/Jim Prentice prior to their disruption and ejection. If you don’t smell a rat by now, then maybe YOUR nose is broken.
